The device consists of an inverted U-shaped frame (4) with side supports (5) on rollers (6) which can move easily along a row of plants on the ground or on a layer of plastics mulching film while straddling the row. The cutter/trimmer has two interchangeable casings. One casing has rotating side blades (10) to cut the stolons (3) of the plants on each side of the row, and the other has horizontal rotary blades to cut the plant leaves at a given height. The blades can be driven e.g. from a back-pack motor used with a brush-cutter, and the stolons of the plants can be cut and the leaves trimmed by two simple passages along each row of plants. USE/ADVANTAGE - A strawberry plant stolon cutter and leaf trimmer. More convenient plant trimming and higher productivity.
