Wind-round yarn and process and apparatus for producing it

In a wind-round yarn with a core consisting of a drafted staple-fibre sliver, around which a binding thread is wound helically, provision is made for looping some of the ends of the outer fibres around the core and the binding thread. This is achieved in that the staple-fibre sliver, after being wound round with the binding thread, is compacted pneumatically. A pneumatic twisting nozzle is provided for the compaction.
