<p>A grate for insertion into the bowl of a smoker's pipe, the grate being formed initially from sheet material and having a flat central portion with a plurality of legs radiating therefrom. A tool has a head portion and a handle portion, the head having a slot shaped to closely receive one leg at a time so that pressure can be applied to each leg to bend it from the plane of the central portion, cup shaped member is thereby formed having an outer periphery for close reception in the bowl. The central portion is provided with an opening and the free end of the handle portion of the tool is shaped to interlock with the slot so that the disc may be secured to the free end of the tool for pushing the grate into the bowl or withdrawing it therefrom.</p> |
