The tunnelling machine has a ram-operated driving shield and a further shield to the rear containing an alignable trailing unit accommodating a spoil conveyor if desired, together with an erector for lining rings. The trailing unit (20) is supported in the axial direction in bearings (25) in the rearward shield (4). The trailing unit can be turned in relation to the driving shield about the shield axis, moved vertically and sideways, and pivoted on the horizontal and vertical transverse axes of the shield. USE - Allows accurate adjustment in relation to driving shield when rounding curves or when this deviates from the exact position.
