PURPOSE:To simplify a structure and enable a spectrum to be accurately discriminated and selected by multiply laminating quantum wells each composed of multilayer thin films having different compositions. CONSTITUTION:For example, when absorption characteristics C1, C2 and C3 are given to first, second and third multilayer films 1, 2 and 3, respectively, and which light with a wavelegth lambda1, lambda2 or lambda3 is inputted is examined, principally an output signal DT1 becomes a high output when a spectrum for the wavelength lambda1 is inputted, principally an output signal DT2 becomes the high output when a spectrum for the wavelength lambda2 is inputted and only an output signal DT3 becomes the high output when a spectrum for the wavelength lambda3 is inputted. Thus, the input wavelengths can be easily discriminated. Further, by arithmetically processing the various levels of the output signals DT1-DT3, the input wavelengths can be also discriminated. Thus, the spectrums can be accurately discriminated and selected. |
