PURPOSE:To obtain a sealing device with accurate and uniform corrugation, by sandwiching a substantially annular sheet material between molds each having a corrugation forming surface, pressing the molds provided with a heating die to form a corrugated sheet member, and cooling the sheet member to stabilize a bent portion. CONSTITUTION:A substantially annular sheet material 6 of tetrafluoroethylene resin or tetrafluoroethylene resin with dispersed filler is sandwiched between upper and lower molds 4 having corrugation forming surfaces 5. Then, the molds 4 are heated under pressure with a heating die to form a corrugated sheet member. Then, the molds 4 together with the corrugated sheet member are cooled by a cooler, and the sheet member is cut at its inner and outer ends to a certain size to obtain a sealing member. Thus, after the corrugated sheet member is formed by the heating die, the molds 4 are cooled to stabilize a bent portion of the corrugated sheet member. As a result, it is possible to obtain a sealing device with accurate and uniform corrugation. |
