PURPOSE:To obtain the title semisolid ink that contains wax and naphthenic hydrocarbons at a specific ratio, thus being useful in filmless heat transfer recording, because it gives distinct pictures without tailing and fogging and has high storage stability. CONSTITUTION:The objective semisolid ink is composed of 10-70pts.wt. of wax such as beeswax or paraffin wax and 30-90pts.wt. of naphthenic hydrocarbons such as fluid paraffin and used in filmless heat transfer recording where the ink is heat-melted and allowed to flow out of a nozzle 7 and transfer to the recording medium 4. In general, the wax preferably with a softening point of 40-120 deg.C and a melt viscosity of 4-200cps at 130 deg.C is heat-melted and mixed with naphthenic hydrocarbons which are liquid at room temperature and have preferably a viscosity lower than 500cps at 40 deg.C, when needed, coloring agents and a variety of solvents and additives.
|
