The invention relates in the first place to a woven tape having draw-in threads which form decorative arcs. In this case, the draw-in threads are tied in the tape in particular regions by means of warp threads. The draw-in thread is held on the warp threads in the region of contact with the warp threads by means of an adhesive and/or welded joint. The invention also relates to a process for producing a woven tape, especially elastic trimming tape, in which the draw-in threads forming the decorative arcs are tied in the tape, together with a holding thread, between warp threads. As a result of heat treatment, the holding thread designed as a meltable thread is melted until it makes a welded joint at the points of contact between the draw-in thread and warp thread. In this case, the heat treatment takes place during the operation of dyeing the tape.
