The invention relates to an accordion with a treble part which is fastened on a bellows and has a housing and which has on a fingerboard a keyboard, the keys of which are connected via "clavis" levers to flaps for covering soundholes for tuning reeds which respond to the pulling or pushing wind play, the tuning reeds being accommodated in reed boards which are fastened to a filling, the fingerboard being arranged obliquely backwards in relation to the front side of the accordion which faces away from the player. In order to free the accordion player from his unnatural arm position during playing, it is envisaged that the fingerboard is arranged with the keyboard adjacent to the front side, prolonging the latter, and inclined at an angle of approximately 40-50@ to the front side.
