The invention relates to a climbing apparatus comprising a horizontal tread surface, two opposite ends of which are each provided with a vertically or obliquely running supporting part. By means of this particularly convenient climbing apparatus, assembled in a unit, the user is permitted to carry out optimum work over a large surface area on wall and ceiling in rooms of the most common height of approximately 2.20-2.70 m.
