The invention relates to a switching-off device for traction-current lines for vehicles guided in a track. In order to configure such a switching-off device such that it can be triggered remotely by the vehicle operator at any point over the distance covered, the invention makes provision for two bare wires which are not in contact with one another to run along the track within arms reach of the vehicle operator, which wires lead to a centrally arranged, stationary relay for switching off the traction-current lines and onto which a voltage source installed in the vehicle can be temporarily clipped via a flexible cable.
