The present invention relates to a polyimide film and a manufacturing method thereof. According to the method of the present invention, the polyimide film, which exhibits excellent light transmittance and driving properties, can be manufactured by using a compression roll including the unevenness without using a filler and by forming the illumination intensity in a specific range on a film surface. The manufacturing method of a polyimide film comprises a step of compressing a polyamic acid gel film in a semi-dry state by using the roll including the unevenness on the surface.
