STEPPING MOTOR FOR POSITIONING CONTROL

PURPOSE:To allow a stepping motor to control the tip of an output shaft properly so as to be a target position, by building a rotary type potentiometer in with a dead zone whose angle is less than twice as wide as a step angle of the motor. CONSTITUTION:The shell of a motor is composed of a bracket to secure a stator 1 and an intermediate bracket 2 and a bracket to hold a bearing 5 for an output shaft 4. A rotor magnet 7 is secured by a moulded resin section 8. A rotating shaft 11a of a potentiometer 11 is secured to the rear end section 8b on the counter output shaft side of the moulded resin section 8 and a movable element 11b is forced to move by means of the rotating shaft 11a. This potentiometer 11 has got a dead zone whose angle is less than twice as wide as a step angle of the motor. According to the frequency of passage through the OFF region of the output of the potentiometer 11, regional decision is made to control the tip 4c of the output shaft so as to be a target position.
