The present invention relates to a rotary compressor for refrigerating apparatuses and is intended to provide a discharge muffler formes by coverlingly placing a diaphragm (22) and discharge cober (21) over a surface opposite to the cylinder side of a bearing (14) opposite to the motor unit side, thereby to attain improvements in discharge silencing effect as well as miniaturization of rotary compressors.
