The lightweight core (1), in the form of a continuous roll, is fed between two rolls (2) which apply a wire mesh to each side of the core. The wire mesh or grille is composed of longitudinal wires (2-3) and transverse wires (2-2). As the sandwich of mesh and core advances and reaches the fastening device (3), connectors (2-1) are discharged by the dischargers (3-1) to lodge inside the transverse wires to which they are welded by upper and lower electrodes at the subsequent welding station (4). Following the welding operation the continuous sheet is cut into sized panels by a bandsaw, circular saw (5) or more pref. by a laser beam cutter. The device allows for imperfections in the panel size which does not result in defects in the positioning of the wire mesh. - |
