PURPOSE:To form a resin material with water absorption properties, such as a film type material, a sheet type material, a fibrous material or the like, which is provided with a high water absorption property and prominent in configuration holding properties after absorbing water, by a method wherein the resin material with water absorption properties, which contains carboxylate, and polyolefin, which contains a glycidyl group, are molten and kneaded to make a composite composition and, further, the extrusion molded form thereof is oriented. CONSTITUTION:The blending proportion of a resin with water absorption properties, which cantains carboxylate, is 5 - 80 weight %, preferablly 10 - 70 weight % while the blending proportion of polyolefin, which contains a glycidyl group, is 95 - 20 weight %, preferably 90 - 30 weight %. The resin with water absorption properties, which contains carboxylate, and the polyolefin, containing a glycidyl group, are formed, into a composite composition by melting and kneading under a temperature of at least the melting point of said polyolefin. It is estimated that at least two constituents of the composition are reacted locally by melting and kneading, this composite composition is formed by extrusion by a conventional method and, thereafter, is processed by an usual orientation process. |
