PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality by changing a prescribed data section at every prescribed picture element in the horizontal direction of a transmitted picture signal to a certain level to make block-shaped picture elements, which appear on a display device, almost inconspicuous. CONSTITUTION:In a receiving circuit 2, a timing signal is supplied from a timing signal generating circuit 18 and the data of, for example, 2/5 section of each picture element in the horizontal direction of picture data outputted from a switching circuit 16 is converted to '0' and is supplied to a D/A converter 17. Consequently, a black signal appears on the 2/5 section at every picture element in the horizontal section of the video signal, and stripe-shaped black lines 32 are projected on a display device 31, and the boundaries of picture elements are scarecely recognized by the low-pass filter effect on the sight. The width and intervals of black lines 32 are properly set to optimum values in accordance with the mode and the picture quality by a microprocessor 13. |
