PURPOSE:To enhance electrostatic chargeability and the like by laminating on a substrate a carrier injection blocking layer, a carrier transfer layer, a carrier generating layer, and the like each made of a specified silicon carbide, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body is formed by laminating on the substrate 1 the carrier injection blocking layer 5 made of an amoprhous silicon carbide having an C/Si atomic ratio of 1:9-9:1, the carrier transfer layer 2a made of an amorphous silicon carbide having an C/Si atomic ratio of 1:1-19:1, the carrier generating layer 3a made of an amorphous silicon carbide hydride having an C/Si atomic ratio of 1:9-9:1, and an absorption coefficient at 2,860cm<-1> of <=1,000, and that at 2,090cm<-1> of >=1,000 in the infrared absorption spectra, and a surface protective layer 4a, thus permitting the dark resistivity and the carrier transfer speed of the layer 2a to be enhanced, and electrifiability to be elevated, high speed copying and high speed printing to be made possible by using laser beams, and the fabrication conditions of the layer 3a to be easily set. |
