Improvements to transfer machines of the type comprising a series of machining units 3, 4, 5, 6, a loading station 21 for the workpieces (at position A, B, C, D, E) conveying means 2 with means 2c for transferring the workpieces, means for locking the workpieces at stations corresponding to the machining operations, characterised in that the conveying means 2 comprise at least two parallel branches 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 connected by a bend 12, 13, 14, 15 and each machining unit is located between the two branches and carries at least two machining heads which are angularly offset by 180 DEG , each said machining unit being controlled by means for making one head and then the other work alternately and each branch of the conveying means comprises corresponding machining stations. <IMAGE>
