In a coupling which connects a medical tube, for example a drain or a catheter, to a continuation tube, there is a non-return valve, specifically in the extension (14) of a slightly conical cavity (13) which forms a plug connection for the continuation tube. The valve seat is an annular edge (17). The closure body (18) engages with a conical front face in the valve seat and is guided so as to be axially displaceable in the valve housing (14). This non-return valve operates quickly and reliably. Its function cannot be impaired by deposited solids, for example clots. <IMAGE>
