The double-spindle turning machine (lathe) has two diagonally opposite chucks (10, 12) and tool turrets (14, 16). On one side of the machine space, the tool turret (16) and the chuck (10) can be traversed, in each case by means of cross-slides (24, 18) along a transverse guideway (20) and in the direction of the spindle axes.
