PURPOSE:To improve the overwrite characteristic and raise the recording density by alternately arranging a magnetic layer and a nonmagnetic layer in the recording and reproducing direction to form a data track. CONSTITUTION:With respect to a recording medium like a floppy disc, a hard disc, or a tape cassette and its reproducing device, a magnetic layer 1 and a nonmagnetic layer 2 are alternately arranged in the recording and reproducing direction to form a data track 3. Since the nonmagnetic layer 2 is interposed between magnetic layers 1 to shorten the magnetization transition width very much, the bit length is shortened to raise the density. Further, information is always recorded on magnetic layers 1. |
