PURPOSE:To reduce the disturbance due to noise by shaping the form and thickening the line of an original picture pattern after thinning the line of the pattern and extracting a core wire pattern after thinning the line of the pattern again. CONSTITUTION:A form is scanned by a scanner 50 to read the image. Then the binary picture signal is sent to a character cutting-out device 51. The cutting- out device 51 stores temporarily the picture signal by an amount equivalent to a prescribed scan segment. Then each character pattern is cut-out by a projection process, etc. and stored in a memory A52. A general-purpose computer 53 fetches the character pattern by one character into an internal memory from the memory A52. Then the processing of each step is carried out in the order of the smoothing process, the thinning process, the shaping process, the thickening process, the thinning process and the smoothing process respectively. The results of these processes are stored to a memory B54. |
