PURPOSE:To always obtain a stable and clear copy by driving a means for cleaning an electrifying wire when the temperature of a fixing device at the time of turning on a power supply switch is a fixed temperature or below. CONSTITUTION:The power supply switch is turned on and the temperature of the fixing device is detected by a temperature control means 511. When it is decided that the temperature of the fixing device is <=600 deg.C, the electrifying wire is cleaned by an electrifier cleaning means 510. Consequently, the electrifying wire is cleaned at least once a day, so that clear copies can be always stably obtained. In addition, troublesome electrifying wire cleaning work to be executed by a service man at the time of periodical inspection can be omitted. |
