PURPOSE:To prevent a belt from crack generation due to rolling-in of a foreign matter, to prevent an image holding member from the reduction of its function and to improve durability by winding up the surface of at least one of plural rolls supporting a belt-like supporting body thread or cloth. CONSTITUTION:The image holding member 1 having an image forming layer 3 is supported on the belt-like supporting body 2 by rolls 4a-4c. Cotton thread 7d is wound around at least one of the supporting rolls 4 with 0.5-1mm interval and fixed with adhesives. Since the foreign matter rolled into a gap between the belt 2 and the roll 4 is entered into a gap formed on the surface of the roll 4 and catched, no projection or crack is generated on the surface of the belt 2. |
