PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of abnormality in an engine operating condition, by changing an engine operation control mode from a non-drive range to a drive range when a rate of change in rotating speed of an output shaft has become a value not greater than a negative set value. CONSTITUTION:A transmission control unit 200 receives a signal from a speed range detecting sensor 47, and selects a speed range of an automatic transmission 30 from a non-drive range to a drive range. Then, a rage of change in turbine rotating speed detected by a turbine rotating speed sensor 40 is calculated. When the rate of change has become a value not greater than a negative set value, a select determining signal starts to be supplied to an engine control unit 100. Accordingly, a width of a valve opening driving pulse signal to be supplied from the control unit 100 to a flow control valve 27 is increased to thereby increase a quantity of intake air. As a result, a timing when a load to be applied to an engine is substantially changed coincides with a timing when an engine operation control mode is changed, thereby preventing rapid rise in engine speed and engine stall. |
