PURPOSE:To obtain a foam having uniform fine air bubbles at a low cost, by impregnating a fiber with a liquid composition prepared by blending an unsaturated polyester with an ammonium bicarbonate powder as a foaming agent, an organic peroxide as a curing agent, a curing accelerator and an anhydrous organic acid and heating to foam and cure it. CONSTITUTION:When a fiber as well as an unsaturated polyester is impregnated and foamed, a liquid-impregnated fiber obtained by impregnating the fiber with a water-free liquid mixture prepared by blending an unsaturated polyester with an ammonium bicarbonate powder, an organic peroxide as a curing agent, a curing accelerator and an anhydrous organic acid, is introduced into a molding tunnel die and heated there, and thereafter foamed and cured. Ammonium bicarbonate powder as a foaming agent, whose particle diameter is 30mu or less, is used in the amount of 0.1-20pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. resin. Cobalt naphthenate, manganese naphthenate etc. are used as a curing accelerator. A glass roving 1 is impregnated with a water-free liquid mixture 3 by an impregnating apparatus D and is introduced into a heating tunnel die H.
