PURPOSE:To produce inorg. fiber in high fiberization yield by supplying a molten raw material to a first rotary drum from an intermediate trough as plural branched flows when inorg. fiber such as rock wool is produced by a multistage rotary drum type centrifugal device. CONSTITUTION:When inorg. fibers such as rock wool and slag wool are produced by the multistage rotary drum type centrifugal device, the inorg. molten raw material 4 is supplied to the groove-shaped intermediate trough 1 with one end closed by a rear wall 1b and the other end opened as a discharge port 1c. A partition wall 2 with the upstream side shaped in the form of a wedge to separate the inorg. molten raw material flow into two separated flows 3 is fixed to the bottom 1a of the discharge port 1c of the intermediate trough 1. The molten raw material flow is allowed to flow onto the tread face of the first-stage rotary drum 5 as the separated flows, the centrifugal force of each rotary roll is utilized, and inorg. fiber with a reduced unfiberized part is produced in high fiberization yield. |
