A process for filling outer cartons with filled tubes placed in trays is carried out in a fully automatic manner, in that the tubes (16, 18) filled and closed on tube-filling machines (12, 14) are extracted from the tube-filling machines (12, 14) and are placed upside down into transport containers (30), in such a way that they are arranged in line with one another in these, in that the transport containers (30) filled with tubes (16, 18) are transported towards the trays (52) to be filled, in such a way that the transport containers (30) are positioned in a predetermined position (46) at the trays (52), the tubes standing in succession in a row and belonging to a plurality of successive transport containers being in each case at an equal distance a from one another, in that the tubes are then extracted in groups again from the transport containers (30) and placed upside down into trays (52), and in that the now empty transport containers (30) are transported for filling again to the tube-filling machines (12, 14), whilst, in each case, an outer carton (26) is slipped over the filled trays (52) and is subsequently closed. <IMAGE>
