PURPOSE:To manufacture the title wax which contains a small amount of low- molecular petrolatum and imparts excellent stain resistance to a coating film, by the partial oxidative degradation of a specified petrolatum or the starting material in the presence of an alkaline earth metal and incorporating a wax, a mineral oil, and a rust-preventive agent therein. CONSTITUTION:A petrolatum of an average number of carbon atoms of 42-48 obtained by mixing a petrolatum of an average number of carbon atoms of about 40 with a petrolatum of an average number of carbon atoms of about 50 is partially oxidized in the presence of an alkaline earth metal to give a mixed petrolatum (B) comprising about 50wt.% 30-60C unoxidized petrolatum, about 25wt.% 25-70C oxidized petrolatum, and about 25wt.% alkaline earth metal salt of a 25-70C oxidized petrolatum. Then, 100wt.% rust-preventive wax (A) is mixed with 10-12wt.% component B, 15-20wt.% wax (C) (e.g., a microcrystalline wax), 5-7wt.% mineral oil (D), 10-15wt.% rust preventive agent (E) (e.g., calcium sulfonate), and 53-57wt.% solvent (F) (e.g., a mineral spirit). |
