摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent warpage or crack and efficiently obtain high-quality glass in spite of thermal expansion difference or sticking of Glauber's salt, by controlling the driving peripheral speed of each glass transferring roll group equipped with a driving mechanism for driving rolls for a given number with a specific accelerating means. CONSTITUTION:A driving mechanism 2 consisting of a motor (2a) for driving each roll 1 and a speed reducer (2b) connectedly driven by the motor (2a) is installed for each of the roll groups I-III consisting of a given number of rolls 1 as one unit provided side by side in a glass annealing furnace. On the other hand, control signals are outputted through a controlling device 3 to each motor (2a) so that the roll driving peripheral speed of each group I-III may be a driving peripheral speed according to the set driving speed and set acceleration ratio of a driving speed setter 5 and speed ratio setter 6 based on sensed signals of a sensor 4 for sending the driving peripheral speed of the rolls 1 in each of the roll groups I-III from the number of driving revolutions of each speed reducer (2b), set signals of the driving speed setter 5 for setting the roll driving peripheral speed in the first roll group I and set signals of the speed ratio setter 6 for setting each acceleration ratio of the respective second and third roll groups II and III corresponding to the driving peripheral speed of the rolls 1 in the first roll group I. Thereby the driving peripheral speed is increased to the downstream side in the transfer direction.</p>
