PURPOSE:To easily secure the installation space by arranging the first pressurizing piston of a brake master cylinder in series with a power piston and arranging the second and third pressurizing pistons in parallel with the first pressurizing piston, thus reducing the whole length of the master cylinder. CONSTITUTION:As for a master cylinder 10, the part including the second hydraulic piston 70 of a tandem type master cylinder and the second pressurizing chamber 74 is turned back by 180 deg. for the part including the first pressurizing piston 32 and the first pressurizing chamber 34, and the third pressurizing piston 72 is arranged oppositely to the second pressurizing piston 70. Further, the retreat position of a power piston 96 is prescribed by a stopper projection 97, and the working force is transmitted to the first pressurizing piston 32 by a relay rod 126. Thus, the first pressurizing piston 32 is arranged in series with the power piston 96, and since the second and third pressurizing pistons 70 and 72 are arranged in parallel, the whole length of the brake master cylinder equipped with a booster can be reduced, and the installation space can be easily secured. |
