PURPOSE:To obtain an image having no ghost, and also, having a good color purity by constituting the titled device so that only a light beam of P wave polarization is made incident on a dichroic mirror, in case of synthesizing a light beam which has transmitted through plural TN type liquid crystal panels, by the dichroic mirror. CONSTITUTION:A light beam from a light source 1 is made incident on condenser lenses 3,3 directly, or by being reflected by cold mirrors 2, 2, and generated as parallel rays. This parallel rays are reflected by reflecting mirrors 5, 5 through heat insulating filters 4, 4 and supplied to liquid crystal panels 6, 7. A light beam which has transmitted through a polarizing plate, a liquid crystal panel 7, and a polarizing plate 9, and a light beam which has transmitted through the polarizing plate 8, the liquid crystal panel 6, and the polarizing plate 9 become light beams of P wave polarization, and this light beam is converged by theta by convex lenses 11, 11 and supplied to a dichroic mirror 10. Therefore, a light beam of G which has transmitted through the liquid crystal panel 7 is reflected, and a light beam of R and B, which has transmitted through the liquid crystal panel 6 transmits through and synthesized, and projected by a projection lens system 12. In this way, a ghost on the screen is eliminated, and an image having a good color purity is obtained. |
