A device for measuring the radial play of antifriction bearings, the measured value is determined directly between the surface of the bore of the inner ring and the circumferential surface of the outer ring. In this case, both the outer ring and the inner ring rotate. As a result, the measurement result is not affected by untrue running of the drives and tolerance-induced errors in the individual parts. Due the preferably axial clamping of the antifriction bearing between the drive madrel and an axial bearing, the ball surface of the inner ring is largely free for mounting a probe.
