The invention relates to a flange for the connection of pipes, connection stubs, valves and/or containers to an internal enamel coating which is guided, via a rounded portion, to that end side of the flange on which the next flange rests. Provided in the end side (4) is a coaxial, annular depression (6) of approximately uniform depth (T) and smaller diameter than that of the flange. The depth (T), measured in the axial direction, of the depression (6) is equal to or greater than the thickness (D) of the enamel coating (5). The external, remaining surface (8) of the end side (4) is free of enamel. <IMAGE>
