PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance and the oil holding performance, in a sliding face of a cylinder liner having a specific area burnt through laser beam at an upper portion thereof, by providing burnt stripe sections continuous in the circumferential direction and burnt stripe sections intermittent in the circumferential direction alternately in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder liner 1 for 2-cycle Diesel engine for vessel has a laser burnt area 4 in a specific area at the upper portion of its sliding face, as well as a cylinder oil injection hole 2 and a scavenging port 3. Here, burnt stripe sections 5 continuous in the circumferential direction and burnt stripe sections 7, 8 discontinuous in the circumferential direction are formed alternately in the laser burnt stripes 5, 7, 8 is 1/3-1/2 of the width of a piston ring 6 an the discontinuous burnt stripes 7, 8 occupy 40-70% of the entire area. Consequently, the abrasion resistance, the oil holding performance and the smoothness against the piston ring can be improved. |
