PURPOSE:To eliminate the sagging and dropping of a coating liquid and the formation of a coating liquid pool at the terminal to be coated by lowering the pulling-up speed near the terminal of a material to be coated. CONSTITUTION:The speed in a method for controlling the speed of a coating control device is increased quickly up to V1 at which a set coating thickness is obtainable to execute the coating in the range for coating the set coating thickness, in most cases, the stroke up to the neighborhood of the terminal of a cylinder to be coated. The speed is thereafter controlled to V2, lower than V1, during the time of the stroke to prevent the sagging of the coating liquid. The speed is controlled, after the end of said section of V2, to the highest possible speed V3 so as to permit the quick return up to the end point of the pulling up. The sagging and dropping of the coating and the formation of the coating liquid pool at the terminal to be coated are thereby eliminated and the movement of paper when the device is used for an electrophotographic sensitive body is smoothed. |
