<p>PURPOSE:To enable a filter to be regenerated without burning the filter by supplying electromagnetic waves generated by a magnetron or the like to the filter so that thereby particulates gathered by the filter can be sublimated. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gases are introduced into a particulate filter 13 inside a case 17 through an exhaust pipe 12. And the exhaust gases enter the inside of through holes 18b which are opened on the inlet side of the filter 13, and after passing through the wall surfaces between through holes 18, they are exhausted passing through through holes 18a which are opened on the outlet side. Then, by the passage of exhaust gases through the wall surfaces between the through holes 18, particulates are gathered. In this case, when the accumulated amount of particulates has reached a given amount, the electromagnetic waves generated by a magnetron 15 are irradiated to the particulates inside the filter 13 via a wave introducing pipe 14. Thus, the particulates are sublimated to be exhausted together with exhaust gases, thereby the reproduction of the filter 13 can be carried out.</p> |
