The invention relates to a temperature control electronics unit for soldering irons. The object of the invention is a simple and functionally reliable temperature control electronics unit, which is constructed using a minimal number of components, entirely from standard components in the minimum possible space, which transmits no radio-frequency interference radiation and has no negative influence on the temperature response and parameter tolerances of the components used. The object is achieved according to the invention by decoupling the supply voltage fed to the control electronics unit into the reference voltage required for a comparison network, the reference voltage for the comparison network being generated by a light-emitting diode. The control electronics unit compares the resistance (increasing with the temperature) of the temperature sensor resistor fitted in the vicinity of the soldering tip with a preselectable nominal value and switches the heating element off when the soldering tip reaches the nominal temperature, and on again when it is less than said nominal temperature. The temperature control electronics unit is used for temperature control of electrically heated soldering irons for soldering thermally and electrically sensitive components and electrical technology/electronic components.
