Two translatory movements take place in the lock housing: a bolt pushes a stop up to the fixing nut. When the bolt is completely inserted, the stop uncovers the fixing nut and locks the covering hood, which covers the nut. By rotating the key, the beard of the lock cylinder releases the spring effect, as a result of which a tumbler is pushed into the groove of the bolt. In consequence, the bolt and the stop are completely locked. Only now can the key be removed.
