A transmitter disc (1) which can be rotated about an axis (10) bears teeth (11) and mark teeth (12) arranged in a circular path. A pulse generator (2) supplies one tooth pulse (21) per tooth (11) and one mark tooth pulse (22) per mark tooth (12), which are serially converted by a converter (31) into one binary character each (0 and 1, respectively). The binary characters run serially into a shift register, the respective content of which is the memory address of the associated angle signal (W) of the transmitter disc (1) in a read-only memory (33). <IMAGE>
