In a water radiator for an internal combustion engine, both the tube plates (sheets) (2) and the manifold boxes (1) assigned thereto are made from metal. Each manifold box (1) has a turned up edge region which forms a groove (10) with the box wall (9). In order to join the manifold box (1) to the tube plate (2), provision is made of flanged lugs (6) on the bent-away rim (7) of said box, which act on the groove outer wall (12, 13), a seal (5) further being inserted between a wall part of the groove (10) and the rim region of the tube plate (2). In order to limit the contact pressure exerted on the seal (5) in a simple way, the groove floor (11) is pressed directly against the tube plate (2). The groove outer wall (12) adjoining the groove floor (11) is directed obliquely against the bent-away rim (7) of the rube plate, and the seal (5) is clamped between the inclined groove outer wall (12) and the part of the tube plate (2) which is situated outside the support point (14). <IMAGE>
