Chain conveyors used in underground working and in tunnelling can be swivelled to a limited degree in particular in the transfer region when the central metal sheet and the bottom metal sheet and lateral profiles are divided in the transverse direction of the trough and together form a bamboo knot joint in which the metal sheets are designed so as to be in engagement with one another and guided past one another and, at the centre of rotation, are held together so as to be axially fixed and capable of horizontal rotation. When the side profiles are also correspondingly designed, a very stable joint is formed, which ensures that the individual parts are guided past one another practically in two circular regions so that a perfect swivelling, in particular of the discharge head of such chain conveyors, is provided. The discharge head can at the same time also be raised and lowered, namely in that a further bamboo knot joint with a vertically running axis (as an additional pivot joint) or with a horizontally running axis is arranged in the region of the central metal sheet and in that the upward or downward guides of the lateral profiles are formed so as to be arc-shaped and at the same time to overlap one another. By these means, a crossing of the chain assemblies or of the drivers is ensured, so that the discharge head can be raised or lowered by approximately 15 DEG . The swivelling joint can be realised particularly advantageously at, for example, the connection to curved channels of the rool curves or both joints at the discharge heads of delivery conveyors, via the ...
