Guide device for a power-driven hand tool

There is proposed a guide device for a power-driven hand tool which has a guide rail (13), which can be placed on a workpiece (15), and a guide element (12), which is guided on the guide rail in the longitudinal direction and to which at least one strut (32) holding the machine (34) is laterally fixed. The guide element (12) and the at least one strut (32) are constructed for freely-suspended reception of a planing machine (34) and have a guide handle (24). In this way, the entry table plate can exhibit its upper extreme position, the planing machine then being guided by the guide element (12) or the guide handle (24) alone. This arrangement allows the working depth to be adjustable in height and to be set by the guide element (12) alone. <IMAGE>
