The invention relates to compositions for the treatment of the hair and the scalp based on conventional cosmetic vehicles and additives which contain, as ingredient promoting hair growth, a synergistically acting combination of diazoxide and cyproterone acetate. These compositions are suitable for stopping hair loss and promoting growth of the hair on the head. The invention also relates to a hair-treatment method for reducing hair loss and for promoting hair growth.
