<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to convey and store sheets into a predetermined sheet cassette, by automatically detecting the sizes of sheets set on a paper feed bed. CONSTITUTION:A pair of guide plates 218 are provided in a conveying path extending from a pair of guide plates 204 to an A3 size cassette 102, and similarly, a guide plate 220 is provided in a conveying path extending from a pair of guide plates 208 to a B4 size cassette 104. When a sheet size detecting means 21 detects a B5 size sheet, change-over members 242, 244, 246 are opened and located to positions as indicated by solid lines, so that the B5 size sheet is conveyed into a B4 size cassette 108 by way of pairs of guide plates 202, 204, 206, 208, 210, 212, 214, 216, 224. Similarly, the passage change-over members 242, 244 are opened to be located at positions as indicated by solid lines while the passage change-over member 246 is closed to be located as indicated by phantom lines, and therefore, an A-size sheet may be conveyed into a A4 size cassette 106.</p> |
