PURPOSE:To obtain an ignition device suitable for a two-cycle engine with no possibility of causing misoperation in the other cylinder, by providing an ignition coil in every two cylinders further connecting spark plug electrodes of said two cylinders in series still further setting diodes which inhibit an electric current from flowing in the reverse direction. CONSTITUTION:An ignition pulse signal from an ignition signal generating circuit 16 is applied, for instance, when ignition is generated in a cylinder #1, to a transistor 6a, and counter electromotive force, instantaneously generated by the pulse signal when it lowers down from a level H to L, generates an ignition current in a secondary winding 5 in an arrow head A of full line in the drawing and forms a spark in a spark plug 2a of the cylinder #1. A spark plug electrode 26, in which no current is allowed to flow by the action of a diode 10b, forms no spark. On the contrary, when a cylinder #4 is driven, an ignition pulse is applied to a transistor 6b, and an electric current is generated in the second winding part 3b, here a high voltage current, which is allowed to flow in a direction as indicated by an arrow head B of broken line in the drawing, forms a spark in the electrode 2b in the cylinder #4. No electric current is allowed to flow in the electrode 2a of the cylinder #1 by the action of a diode 10a. |
