PURPOSE:To obtain the titled novel copolymer having low water-absorption and excellent transparency, heat-resistance, etc., by copolymerizing methyl methacrylate with a fluorinated (meth)acrylate compound and a vinyl compound having alicyclic hydrocarbon group. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer can be produced by copolymerizing (A) methyl methacrylate accounting for major fraction of the components wit (B) a monomer of formula I (A is H or CH3; Y is fluorine-substituted 1-20C saturated hydrocarbon group) and (C) a monomer of formula II (Z is 6-15C alicyclic hydrocarbon group). The ratios of the components A, B and C in the copolymer are preferably 60-90(wt)%, 5-20% and 3-20%, respectively. The component B is e.g. tetrafluoroethyl methacrylate and the component C is e.g. vinyl bicyclohexane. |
