<p>PURPOSE:To provide the titled compound containing a specific linear recurring unit having a specific organic group bonded to the unit through ionic bond, formable to a film by Langmuir Brodgett's method and giving a thin film having excellent heat-resistance, chemical resistance, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound contains linear recurring unit composed of alternately linked >=2C organic group R1 having >=3 valencies and >=2C organic group R2 having >=2 valencies through a bivalent linking group wherein a group R3 containing (substituted) 10-30C hydrocarbon group is bonded to said unit through an ionic bond. An example of the compound is the compound of formula I. For example, the compound of formula I wherein R3 is CH3(CH2)17 and R4 and R5 are CH3 can be produced by acylating trimellitic acid with thionyl chloride in an organic solvent under anhydrous condition, reacting with p-phenylenediamine and reacting the resultant polyamidic acid composed of the unit of formula II with N-n-octadecylmethylamine.</p> |
