880,958. Winding thread-traverse mechanisms. MAIHAK A.G., H. May 21, 1958 [May 21, 1957], No. 16348/58. Class 120(2) Thread guiding mechanism for bobbin winding or spooling machines includes a thread guide mounted for reciprocating movement and adapted to engage the unsupported portion of thread extending upstream from the bobbin or spool to the next preceding point of support and means for maintaining the length of said unsupported portion substantially constant during winding, the latter means comprising a part having a cam surface of substantially arcuate form serving to control the length of said unsupported portion either by direct contact therewith or by controlling the position of the thread guide relative to the axis of the bobbin or spool during reciprocal movement of the threadguide. In the embodiment shown a thread guide 4 for a thread 3 is mounted in a rocker arm 5 which is supported against bobbin 2 by a roller 6. A cam member 7 is mounted immediately below the guide 4. It can alternatively be mounted above. In a second embodiment the guide itself moves in an arcuate cam track. |
